Drew Steele Center

City of Greenville Recreation & Parks Department

Greenville, NC

Architect of Record - Hite Associates PC

Project Architect - Bradley Williams

The Drew Steele Center is a total transformation of the previous Elm Street Gymnasium recreational facility. By design, the building was completely demolished back to its structural frame with only the roof and a few exterior walls left untouched.  The new facility provides a wrap around covered porch for protection of visitors and easy drop off.  The building envelope was upfitted with new insulation, while the exterior was furnished with a new facade of brick and EIFS along with a standing seam roof .  Inside, there is a full gym for basketball, volleyball, shuffleboard and other sporting events, as well as a strength training room, a multi-purpose classroom, offices and restrooms.
